30 December 2010 And this little piggy cried wee wee all the way home!!

I got up early this am after the dogs woke me up barking outside. Went to Greer hospital for an admission. Then ate lunch with two of my three favorite people. I ran in Old Navy to buy a birthday present and back home. Found out that my glasses were ready so I high tailed it to Gwd. to get them as they are closed tomorrow. It is taking some adjustment to the transition lenses again after the readers. Then Casey and I stopped for an eyebrow wax and decided to get a pedicure too. The piggies look so good now and I love time with my girl. She will be back at NGU before I know it.
I love you sweetie beatie!!

26 December 2010 Christmas Wrap Up

We enjoyed two great Christmas celebrations at the Rodgers and the Adams households. Friday night, we feasted on spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and cheese bread. And ... of course, the desserts. Then on Sunday, we gathered at the Adams household and feasted on turkey, ham, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, pineapple casserole, dressing and gravy, and butter beans. And again, the desserts. The most important part of the two days was being together with family. Not to be depressing, but we are not promised tomorrow. Every holiday is a blessing!!! I didn't want the day to end.

18 December 2010 Sarge Is Back !!!!!

We lovingly call my mom sarge. We have had a three year reprieve from "Sarge". But all good things come to an end. Sarge is back. I accidentally called her on the cell phone yesterday and here is the gist of the conversation.

Me: Sorry mom. I dialed you. I am in the eye doctor's office. We may come by afterwards. Do you know what day we're getting together for Christmas?

Mom: No but I should know tomorrow.

Me: Well, Cheryl and I need to know so that we can get the food and have it ready.

Mom: Well, I've already cooked the cornbread this morning.

Me: That's all that you need to fix. We'll get the rest.

Mom: Well, you know I have that turkey breast.

Me: I'm getting the ham and the rest of the food.

Mom: Your daddy and I are going to the grocery store soon and I'M buying the ham.

Me: Mama, now you need to take it easy and don't overdo and go backwards.

Mom: You don't know nothing, I haven't been turned up yet. (She's referring to her pacemaker being turned on for activity).

Me: (Thinking to myself) Why can't parents just mind their kids ?)

Sarge is DEFINITELY back!!!! But I love her and I'm glad.

16 December 2010

So thankful that mom is over the hump with the pacemaker insertion. She did great but said she wouldn't do it if she knew what all it entailed. That's why they don't tell you all of it beforehand, mom. I love her so much. She has been a trooper. So has my dad. He has been a great nurse, cook, and laundry man. He got a good taste of what all mom does, even at 85!! He handled it well and came through it great. Now we can relax and enjoy Christmas.

12 December 2010 Super Sunday

We had a great lunch today at home. I put a chicken and rice casserole in the oven before church, and Casey made tea and Caesar's salad. We enjoyed being together and not getting home at 2:30. Now I have to pack for Denver. I am excited but know that it will be a long trip. James is excited that I will be near the Denver Broncos training camp. I am excited that it will be warm there. I was afraid that it would be cold there but it is supposed to be in the 50's. I can stay warm in that temp. Talk to you in Denver tomorrow night!!!!!!!! Night ya'll, Lynn

10 December 2010 bizzzy bizzzy

Today was a busy busy day. I worked and worked and cooked and cooked. We took mom and dad food for tonight and for Sunday. We took chili for tonight and chicken casserole and broccoli salad. Dad must have been hungry because he had the table set and pulled the pot out to warm it time we walked in the door. Mom is getting stronger and looks good. She sounded like her old self today on the phone. It was so good to hear that. Night ya'll, Lynn

Well, mom is doing better each day. I appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers that were sent up for her. She is precious and I want her healthy and with us as long as possible. We had 3 good visits with potential members. including my School class member, Frankie. He is so precious and I wish I had more like him in there but I like the one on one classtime. One more day and it's Friday and payday!!! Yippeee!! Night ya'll, Lynn

# 30 thing that I am thankful for is......spending time with mom and dad. Even though it was because mom got a pacemaker, we still had a good time together. We looked at old pictures and all kinds of things. Good to reminisce....good to be with mom and dad. Priceless. Night ya'll, Lynn
