28 September 2010

Yes, it is 2:00 am. I am waiting for the Ambien to kick in and just wanted to say Praise God, from whom all blessings flow. Some of my blessings today on my least favorite day of the week: 1) my hubbie to chauffer me to Aiken to see a pt, 2) the rain, 3) seeing my mom and dad, 4)steak and taters with onions, 5)forgiveness of my son when I shouted at him (and I was wrong), 6)not much pain even though we have had a glorious 3+ inches of rain since yesterday am, 7)getting wet in the rain while running to the car, 8)putting my adorable daughter's face on the front of my phone, 9) being able to see my loved ones faces, and 10) an awesome, wonderful God.
I saved the best for last!!! Night ya'll, Lynn

25 Septwmber 2010

I had a typical day. Slept in because I didn't go to bed and go to sleep until 3-4 am. Got up and mopped 1/2 of the kitchen floor and started on the den. I was finishing up vaccuming when joshua and Kerry-Ellen came in. We got to the store and I had left my debit card at home. We went to CiCi's pizza since we were all tired. Then we came home. At least my den and kitchen are clean!!!!

Bittersweet Today has been a good day... and a bad day. Today was a good day. We started out at the IBAG for breakfast. Then I worked for a while and my sis had to leave... sad day. This afternoon I got most of my folks called. We went to Zaxby's for supper. Back for Dancing With the Stars. No sadness here that the Hoff had to go home. Sorry Hoff fans. Now onto Chopped on Food Network. Now down to the Dessert round .... the last spot on the $50,000 challenge. Gotta get back to the TV. Night ya'll, Lynn

We actually stayed at the entire NGU game and then went to Sonic with Casey, her roomate, Kaylin, and one suitemate, Katie and her family. We laughed so much. Next weekend...... please hurry!!!! Night ya'll, Lynn

14 September 2010

This week has been busy for me and my family. Work has been busy and revival has taken every evening. This weekend we will be at NGU for Parents Weekend with Casey. She is doing so well this year. I am so proud of her. We are planning to take the camper up and have a cookout for her and her suite mates. We will be all laughs if I know her suite mates. Saturday, she will be busy with giving tours to prospective students so we can chill in the camper. Hoepfully, it will be a relaxing weekend.

Today started our revival. We were invited to a reunion for the Brown family after church. Lots of good food. Nap this afternoon....hmmm.... so sweet, then start over again with choir practice and church. My legs are hurting from having to get up and down, up and down, up and down for people to get out and in, out and in, and out and in. Time for bed. Night ya'll to my followers out there. I love you, Lynn

11 September 2010

A day that will always be remembered 9-11-2001 We were living in Wrens, Georgia and I was a substitute teacher at our church's CDC (child development center). I had just arrived and found out that the first tower was hit. I called James and asked him what happened at the World Trade Center and I then realized how serious it was. Just after that, the second tower was hit and then the Pentagon. We opened our church that night for a prayer service.
On a lighter note, our day did not turn out as we had planned. We were in Greenwood to work on the house. Our helper forgot and had planned to work.
I went to The Paper Rabbit to exchange something and James found two free tickets to the Clemson game on Facebook from an old high school classmate.
I talked him into going and we had so much fun. Thanks Cheryl.
Now we're home and I'm working on crafts. Night ya'll, Lynn

7 September 2010

I have finally had a good idea. I am going to buy myself some leg warmers and arm warmers like ballet dancers wear. I can easily take them off if my legs and arms get hot. I had this idea today as I was browsing the internet at lunch. Why didn't I think of this before? I also enjoyed quality time with "my boys" today on the front porch. Bailey and Dooley loved it. When you're petting Bailey, Dooley will come up and try to hog all of the attention. So you have to tell him to sit and wait his turn. I call him attention hog. It's not like they are never petted or loved. I give both of them their "love feast" for the day. This is when they have my attention one on one and I rub, scratch, and kiss them. Dooley could take it 24/7 if you could do it that long. He's a mess. And of course, Bailey has been used to all the attention for 3 years til we moved to Iva and then Bailey was moved to the outside. He occasionally wants to come in but for the most part, he loves the outside. Sorry to be so short tonight but i need to get up at 7-7:30 in the morning to do more work. Love and night ya'll, Lynn

6 September 2010

What can I say? We had a great Labor Day weekend. We headed to Elijah Clark State Park on Friday and rolled back in this afternoon. It was so relaxing and cool too. We were able to put up the awning and our lighthouse lights. They were so pretty. James made the comment that he was more relaxed this weekend than he has been in a long time. I tried several times to work on my first scrapbook but was unsuccessful. First, I used up my battery playing Solitaire. I retrieved the charger on Sunday and I forgot that we had put the program on a jump drive so that my computer would not be loaded down. I tried when we got home but I think I was too tired. Maybe next weekend. James listened to the Clemson game on the radio and watched other games on TV. We had some amazing garlic lime fajitas on Saturday night. They are a definite do again. McCormick seasoning pack plus a few other items. Sunday was the IBAG and it was delicious. Thank you, God for a wonderful, relaxing, amazing weekend with my hubby. I love you James Rodgers!! Night ya'll, Lynn

Can I get a little sympathy here ?????
Sometimes being in the minority is good. Sometimes being the only female is an advantage. But tonight it wasn't. My usually sweet husband took the male side. A wasp had gotten in the house from the front door jam and he stung me. I threw my phone down and screamed. Did they come to my rescue? No, they sat there and laughed at me. When they saw the bite and the redness and the swelling, they were a little sympathetic. Every time that I get stung, the reaction is worse. Last time, we lived in Myrtle Beach and I had to go to the ER. Something stung my arm and breast. They were both red and swollen like a blister was on them. So, when the wasp got me tonight, I panicked. I put Benadryl gel on it and ice. Hopefully, it will not give me problems this weekend. Later, I found him and now he is in the commode, ready to be flushed to the septic tank. At least he won't get me again. Now, I am having shooting pains in that arm. Time for bed. At least if I'm asleep, it won't be hurting. Night ya'll, Lynn

1 September 2010

Happy September 1st!! Wow, where has the year gone ?? It was just yesterday that we were in Florida at Disneyworld. Now, before we know it, it will be Christmas. I remember being a kid and thinking, Christmas will never get here. I am excited that tomorrow is my Friday. On the actual Friday, we will be headed to Elijah Clark State Park and 4 days of camping, just my hubby and me. A delayed 27th anniversary trip. Four days of camping, me and my hunny, and a time to relax!! Mmmmmm, can't wait!!
