# 28 thing that I am thankful for is ...... Bailey's stretching. He looks so cute stretching and yawning at the same time. When we pet him, he also rolls over and shows his "big" teeth to us. He started that several years ago. He lights up my life!! Night ya'll, Lynn

# 24 thing that I am thankful for is ...... two days off, including Thanksgiving. My parents are came, my sister was already here, and my brother, sister-in-love, and neice came as well. We celebrated her birthday as her special day was the 23rd. She is sweet 16 and ready to drive.

# 25 thing that I am thankful for is...... hearing my mom's compliments about my and my sister's cooking. Also, my dad's compliment that he wanted Our plans are flexible, as mom will be one week post op from the pacemaker insertion. We will just play it by ear.

# 26 thing that I am thankful for is..... Black Friday shopping and Bailey's successful surgery. I did not get anything "BIG" from the big box stores but we got in during the lull. Bailey did fabulously during the surgery and recovery. Then his teeth got cleaned and polished. He should be good for a while. The stitches come out in two weeks. He has already pulled the bandage down. So I have to go and devise a back up plan for the bandage. Pray that I come up with one that will stay put. Any ideas???? Night ya'll, Lynn

17 November 2010

# 17 that I am thankful for......heaven. I am reading a book, 23 minutes in hell. He describes hell as a dark, dark place. So dark that you can feel it. Creatures are evil and they rip your skin and you do not bleed or die. You are alone in a prison cell and then you are taken, alone, to be placed in a fiery furnace that does not burn you up. And the smell is putrid and sulfur and rotting meat. You are thirsty and cannot get a drip of water, much less a glass. Does this sound like where you would like to spend eternity?? Please know that Jesus died to save you from your sins and hell. Won't you accept Him today? Call me if you have questions. Night ya'll, Lynn

# 12 that I am thankful for is .... our new dog, Champ. He is so much fun and he is so like an excited little boy when he sees us!! He, Dooley, and Bailey are still adjusting to each other. He was in a pen where he had enough room but now he has plenty of room to run anywhere he wants to. He's my new baby boy.

# 13 that I am thankful for is....North Greenville University being close enough to drive to in one day. We took James' work vehicle back (a.k.a. the limousine) and then we picked up Katie, Paul, and Casey up. We then went to Waffle House for lunch. We then went to Dollar Tree to pick out our items for the Operation Christmas Child boxes. We got them back and hit it up the road back to Iva. We made it back just in time for 5:30 and to go to Yoder's. Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Night ya'll, Lynn

7-9 November 2010

Wow, I am behind. Sorry gals who follow my posts. I didn't realize that I was 3 days behind. So here goes....

# 7 that I am thankful for is... my son. He is my firstborn. He turned 25 last week but he will always be my baby. Now he is in college and will be finished next Christmas. He will have a degree in business management. He has the sweetest girlfriend, Kerry-Ellen. He can make me laugh when I feel bad and can talk me into buying him almost anything. I love him so much.

# 8 that I am thankful for...my mom. She is the most amazing woman that I know. She has kept my dad straight for 60+ years (spoiled is more like it) and is still sane. She took care of the 4 of us kids and kept up with all of my Mama's appointments too. She loves me unconditionally and reprimands me when I'm wrong. She's my hero and I hope I can be half the lady that she is when I am her age. I love you, Mom.

# 9 that I am thankful for is my dad. He is the most awesome man that I know. I am still daddy's little girl at 50 and love to talk to him anytime.
He spoiled me rotten and loves me unconditionally. He's my hero. And I love him with all that I am. I love you daddy. I appreciate what you are doing to take care of mom. Night ya'll, Lynn

We could see the game and what happened so well. I liked being up high. Well, maybe a little lower. We had a great time, Then we met my sister, Cheryl, at Fatz Cafe' for dinner. We are resting and watching a Hallmark movie now. I still have to look over the Sunday School lesson and get things together. Night ya'll, Lynn

I am thankful for # 4.... my husband. He is my love, my soul mate, my encourager, my chauffeur, my pastor, my children's father, my bed buddy, and my friend. He loves driving me to my patient's homes and reads or sleeps while I go in and do the admission. Then he drives us home. Sometimes, I read or sleep, he doesn't care. He's mine and I'm thankful for him every day. Night ya'll, Lynn

3 November 2010

I am thankful that God has chosen to use me as his hands in this ministry called nursing. When I think about quitting, I have a day like today. Then God says, You can't quit, you are my hands in the guise of a care manager. I admitted a precious lady named Valerie and she is a joy. Please pray for her as she is a breast cancer survivor and the disease has spread to her head and spine. I stayed at her house for 3 hours. She and I had such a great time sharing. I felt so useful to her. Sometimes, I feel bad getting paid for this. But I guess this is God's way of providing for our family. Night ya'll, Lynn

2 November 2010

Thankful Tuesday... Several of my blog friends are posting a comment each day about something they're thankful for. So I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon and ride along. And since it's the second day of November, here are # 1 and # 2:

1) Christian parents- We don't get a "vote" in who our parents will be, but I'm glad that we don't. God picked out the perfect parents for me. I am the youngest of 4 children and I was a surprise baby but God knew what he was doing when he matched us together. I grew up in church 9 months before I was born and wasn't given a choice of whether I wanted to go or not. I went regardless. I can't say I was always happy with church, i.e. when my dad had those looong meetings several nights a week. I am a better pastor's wife today because of my upbringing.
2)For being a pastor's wife- I know God has a sense of humor here because I used to think that being a pastor's wife was glamorous!! A little less glamorous from the inside out but it has been a great journey. I also enjoy the parish nurse role because it gives the congregation the freedom to ask questions that they might not ask the doctor.
Tune in tomorrow for my # 3 thing(not in order of importance) that I am thankful for!! Night ya'll, Lynn
